Hallo meine Freunde,
heute bekommt ihr einen neuen Post in deutsch und englisch. Es tut mir so unfassbar leid dass ich keine Zeit hatte auf diesem Blog zu schreiben. Da das Musical ja jetzt vorbei ist, habe ich ein paar Wochen ohne Proben oder Training jeden Tag nach der Schule. Heute werde ich mal über 'After school activities' und Kulturunterschiede schreiben.
Die erste Schul-Sache die ich gemacht habe, war das THEATERSTÜCK. Wir haben ''1001 und eine Nacht'' aufgeführt. Um ehrlich zu sein, es war lustig dabei zu sein, auch wenn es nicht das beste Theaterstück war an dem ich jemals mitgearbeitet habe. Ich hatte einen wirklich großen ''Sprechpart'' (Das ist wahrscheinlich nicht mal ein Wort, aber who cares), mit dem ich in verschiedenen rollen auch in fast allen Szenen war! Ich bin dankbar für die Erfahrung, da ich einige meiner besten Freunde dabei getroffen habe. Wir Theater-Kids sind halt immer noch die coolsten! Wir hatten unfassbar viel Spaß hinter der Bühne und auch wenn das Stück selbst nicht das beste war, hatte ich eine tolle Zeit!
Das zweite was ich gemacht habe war das MUSICAL. Wir haben ''Guys and Dolls'' aufgeführt, eine Show über Glücksspiele, Liebe und New York. Wieder einmal habe ich tolle Leute kennen gelernt und auch wenn ich diesmal nur einen kleineren Part hatte (Ich war eine Kellnerin (mit zwei Zeilen) und ein Glücksspieler), war ich teil eines tollen Ensembles und ich durfte eine tolle Zeit mit tollen Menschen verbringen!
Da das Musical ja jetzt vorbei ist, fangen die verschiedenen Sports im Frühling an. Ich habe mich dafür entschieden SOFTBALL zu machen. Softball ist (Für die deutschen Leser die keine Ahnung haben was das ist) ist Baseball für Mädchen, wenn mans so sehen will. Ich habe immer noch keine Ahnung was da die meiste Zeit abgeht, aber ich werde wahrscheinlich nur am Training teilnehmen und gar keine richtigen Spiele spielen (Unser Team ist nämlich wirklich gut). Aber jeder ist wirklich nett zu mir und versucht mir zu erklären was ich machen soll, auch wenn ich echt schlecht bin. Ich hatte sogar darüber nachgedacht Track (Leichtathletik) zu machen, aber jeder der mich schon mal rennen gesehen hat, weiß, dass ich der lebende Beweis dafür bin, dass manche Leute für bestimmte Sportarten ungeeignet sind.
Alles in allem bin ich so dankbar, dass ich das alles hier erleben darf. Ich meine, als Austauschschüler will man so viel lernen wie man kann und das mache ich definitiv hier!
Etwas anderes worüber ich reden will, sind Kulturelle Unterschiede. Nach dem ich jetzt schon seit ein paar Monaten hier wohne, kann ich sagen, dass am Anfang alles sehr gewohnt und Europäisch aussieht, aber in wahrheit alles unterschiedlich ist. Hier ein paar Beispiele:
Schule: Du kannst hier wirklich gut in der Schule sein und keiner macht Witze über dich. Leute wollen einen guten Abschluss bekommen und die mit guten Noten werden auch nicht runter gemacht. Und du kannst hier in Jogginghose rumlaufen und keiner schaut dich doof an. Nur um das mal gesagt zu haben, ich kann so viel länger schlafen weil es keinen Interessiert was ich anhabe.
Jungs. Eher für die Mädchen hier, aber amerikanische Jungs sind... spezial... Die meisten sind echt höflich ABER sobald dich hier jemand nach einem Date fragt, seid ihr sofort zusammen und das ist schon irgendwie, verglichen mit Deutschland anders.
Kirche: Das ist so unterschiedlich. Ich persönlich mag es in Deutschland nicht in die Kirche zu gehen, weswegen ich auch ziemlich skeptisch gegenüber der amerikanischen Kirche war. Aber es ist anders, die Leute sind richtig in der Kirche engagiert und (zumindest unsere Kirche hier) hat etwas dass sich ''Youth Group'' nennt. Wir spielen so gesehen Spiele, werden eine Gruppe und reden über Gott, aber die Menschen die ich getroffen habe sind wundervoll, also ist es einfach eine gute Zeit.
Das wars dann mal von mir, zumindest heute. Wenn ihr irgendwelche Wünsche habt, oder Themen über die ich mal reden sollte, dann schreibt mir bitte! Danke fürs Lesen! Und Entschuldigung für die Grammatikfehler, aber übersetzen und in zwei Sprachen denken ist doch schwerer als man sich das denkt.

Hello my friends,
today you'll get another Post in German and English. I am so sorry that I had no time to write on this blog. But now that the musical is over, I have a few weeks without practice for something after school. Today, I am going to write about after school activities and cultural differences.
The first after school activity I did was the FALL PLAY. We did ''Arabian Nights' (1000 and one nights). It was fun but to be honest, it was not the best play I ever did. Even though I am an exchange student, they gave me over all, a huge speaking part and I was part of almost every scene! I am thankful for the experience and I met some of my best friends there. I mean, the Theatre kids are always the greatest! We had so much fun backstage and even though the play itself was not the best, I had a great Time!
The second thing I did was the MUSICAL. We did the musical ''Guys and Dolls'', a show about gambling, Love and New York! Again, I met amazing people and even though I didn't had a huge part (I was a Waitress with two lines and a Crapshooter), I was part of an amazing ensemble and I got to spend time with great people.
Now, that the Musical is over, the Spring Sports started. I am going to do SOFTBALL. Softball (for the German audience that has no Idea what softball is) is basically Baseball for girls, if you want to explain it that way. I still don't get everything that's going on in that game, and I am probably just going to participate in Training and never actually play (Because our Team is actually REALLY good), but that is okay, because I want to learn. Everyone is so nice to me and they all try, to teach me how to play it, even though I am pretty bad. At the beginning, I was considering to do Track, but everyone who knows me, knows that I am the living example for people that should not run.
All in all, I am so thankful that I was able to experience all of the above. I mean, as an exchange student you want to learn as much as possible and I can say, that I am learning a lot here.
Another thing that I want to talk about are cultural differences. After living in the USA for a few months now I can say, that everything looks very familiar at the beginning, but to be honest, everything is different! I am going to hit a few themes:
School: People try to be good in school and when you are, nobody is making fun of you. When you don't get something at the beginning, the Teachers try to explain everything and all in all, everone is super nice. (At least at my school). And you can run around in sweatpants. Just saying.
Guys: Okay, this one is more for the girls, but american guys are.... something. They are usually very polite BUT here, you are appearently dating after someone asks you out, so that's kinda weird.
Church: Church here is so different. Personally, I don't like the way German church works so I was really sceptic towards church in America. But, it's just different. People are involved in their Church and the Church (At least ours) has something called ''Youth Group''. We basically just play Games and talk about our relationship with God. The people I met are great, so it's just a good time.
